| The Power Tower EMCU assures
network managers that environmental conditions are within defined tolerances
and that unwarranted entry into your equipment cabinets does not go unnoticed.
The EMCU integrates easily with the Power Tower XL. Locate the EMCU in
an equipment cabinet with a PTXL, link it to the PTXL and view temperature,
humidity, water sensing and dry contact closures from the same PTXL interface
you use to manage & monitor the power.
Ever increasing densities of vertically racked servers conserve valuable
floor space in the data center, but the resulting power consumption and
heat dissipation create new concerns for data center managers. Environmental
Monitoring, particularly temperature & humidity, is a must for any
sensitive infrastructure.
As server failure rates increase 2-3 percent for every one degree rise
in temperature, monitoring the temperature in equipment cabinets is vital
to the servers’ performance.
Introducing the Power Tower Environmental Monitoring Control Unit (EMCU)
to monitor vital environmental conditions in your equipment cabinet. Prevent
environmental conditions from exceeding recommended thresholds and protect
your equipment cabinet’s assets from harmful elements.
The Power Tower EMCU assures network managers that environmental conditions
are within defined tolerances and that unwarranted entry into your equipment
cabinets does not go unnoticed.
The EMCU can be located in Data centers, co-lo site, web hosting facilities,
telecom switching sites, POP sites, server closets, and any unmanned area
that needs to be monitored. Link a EMCU to an existing Sentry Power Tower
XL in your equipment cabinet and gain access environmental conditions
from the same interface.
Each EMCU supports two temperature humidity probes, a water sensor and
other dry contact closures. When a dry contact experiences a change in
state or to its defined threshold, it reports an “error” condition.
